ALOPECIA AREATA

Alopecia Areata is visually distinctive with the rapid appearance of small circular patches on the scalp. Sometimes these patches may grow in size and overlap, or they may remain small. Alopecia Areata is a genetic auto-immune disorder which can be triggered by many varied factors, usually associated with stress.

Traction Alopecia

Traction Alopecia is due to prolonged tension exerted to the hair. The constant pulling of the hair over a sustained period of time can permanently damage the hair follicles and lead to hair loss. Generally the hair line is affected causing hair loss around the front of the scalp and temples.

Stress

Stress can be brought about by a shock, bereavement, an accident or illness. There is no related illness and seldom any other noticeable signs or symptoms with the onset of Alopecia Areata, although some women may notice a slight itching in a patch that is just starting to lose hair.

Causes of Traction Alopecia

Hair style
